Summary

The chapter continues as the group reach a safehouse in Ashland and everyone but Ruby and Sam leave to scout the area. Ruby apologizes to Sam for the group’s hesitation and says that Liam has developed a fear of Reds for a reason she does not say. Furthermore, she believes that camps taught them all fear of the outside world. Ruby struggled for a while with her freedom as she could not stand people or being touched. However, once she accepted that she cannot control everything, she found peace with her group of friends. She tells Sam that people working toward the same goal make each other strong.
