Chapter 7: Mistakes

Kiera wakes the next afternoon, hung over, naked, and in Kellan’s bed. She finds her clothes and replays the entire evening. Then she gets ready for her shift at Pete’s. The band isn’t there, and when they file in Kellan isn’t with them. Jenny sees Kiera’s distress and sends her home. She climbs into bed and is woken soon after by footsteps on the stairs. Sure that it is Kellan ready to evict her, she keeps her eyes closed. A hand rests on her arm, and the voice that calls her name softly is Denny’s. She tells him how sorry she is, and he holds her. When he is asleep, Kiera gets up quietly and goes downstairs. She hears a soft knock on the door and opens it to see Kellan being supported by Sam...
