Lincoln Indian Training School

The Lincoln Indian Training School is the school where Odie and Albert O'Banion stay after both of their parents die. Thelma Brickman, the school superintendent, and her husband Clyde Brickman take the boys in out of alleged charity after their father is murdered under mysterious pretenses. The Brickmans, however, are not kind people, and treat all of the students with cruelty. While at Lincoln School, Odie is constantly getting into trouble, his curiosity and strong will often leading to serious punishments. Albert, however, is better behaved, and earns the favor of the school supervisors. It is here that Odie and Albert meet and establish deep friendships with Mose and Emmy. Once the Brickmans' unkindness becomes unbearable, and Odie accidentally kills the school disciplinarian, the four friends flee Lincoln School and begin their journey towards Saint Louis.
