Point of View

This story is told from the point of view of four different first person narrators. Each of these narrators is a student at the school. Two of the students — Sylv and Autumn — are inside the auditorium where Tyler is shooting. Autumn is an important narrator because she is Tyler’s sister. She feels as if she should do something to stop what Tyler is doing and at the same time tries to understand why he is acting as he is. Sylv, on the other hand, has been afraid of Tyler ever since he raped her. Because she is Autumn’s girlfriend, Sylv did not tell anyone, not even her brother, about the rape. She did not want to destroy her relationship with Autumn or destroy what was left of Autumn’s family.
