Crowning Heights

Crowning Heights is the poor, rural community in Texas that Tracy and her family live in. It is located in Galveston County and is about a 40 minute commute into town every day so that they can go to school and work. Tracy and her family moved to Crowning Heights after leaving Louisiana. They live in an old, dilapidated house that is full of memories from the time before Tracy's father was arrested and taken to prison. Behind their house is a field which leads into the woods. Tracy and Jamal used to run out there. Jamal uses an abandoned shack in the woods to hide in while the police search for him.
