This story is written from the perspective of Yunior again, framed as a letter to his ex-girlfriend, Veronica, whom he refers to as Flaca. He shares with the reader, through the letter, that they had met in class while at school and at first fought their urge to try and get into a relationship together. They just wanted to have a physical relationship, but it soon evolved into more than that. The boys that Yunior lived with were against the relationship, but he tried to ignore them.
