Part 2: Chapters 8-9 Summary

Soo-Ja is rescued from the snow by a nurse in the doctor's office. The nurse removes her clothes and warms her up. Soo-Ja asks to be awoken before Dr. Kim comes, but she is still asleep when he arrives. Yul knows about Soo-Ja's situation and offers to help her search for Hana. Soo-Ja reluctantly accepts his help. All day they search the market place. Soo-Ja is too distracted to speak to Yul much, but he remains at her side anyway. Finally they run into an old woman who saw a man pick Hana up off the street and take her to a sul-jib, a kind of bar. Soo-Ja and Yul quickly go to the sul-jib. At first they are unsure how to proceed. Then Soo-Ja calls out Hana's name and the little girl comes running out of a back...
