This tape begins with Hannah's recollections of the "Oh My Dollar Valentines" event at school. Students filled out a survey, and a computer matched the student's responses with those of the opposite sex to work out who was most compatible. To see whose names matched their own, students could pay a dollar per name, to a maximum of five, with money going to charity. As Hannah's description continues, Clay's commentary reveals again how attracted he was to her, and how much he cared for her. He stops on a bench and listens as Hannah describes how, on the day she handed in her survey, a well meaning teacher spoke of how she saw the picture of her and Courtney in the yearbook room, and commented on how, when a picture is published in a yearbook, "everyone shares that moment with you forever."
