Chapter 15 Summary

During his second year of exile, Okonkwo is visited by Obierika, who brings with him two men (his sons), each carrying a heavy bag on his head. The bags are filled with cowries. Okonkwo takes Obierika to meet with Uchendu, who had known his father, Iweka. They sit and talk and Obierika tells them that Abame is no more, that it has been wiped out. He explains that three moons ago a band of fugitives had come into Umuofia and told them the story:

A white man riding an iron horse (a bicycle) had arrived in Abame. The people were afraid of him. The Oracle told them that he would bring destruction to the clan so they killed him and tied up his 'horse' - they thought it might run away. For a long.....
