Summary

In Chapter 22, Cassie rushes to the hospital to see Diana. There, the doctor speaks to Cassie. He says that Diana was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor a few months ago. The tumor is what caused the blindness in Diana’s eye. Diana’s prognosis gives her about one year to live. Cassie is shocked. She now realizes why Diana only asked Cassie to stay with her for a year. Cassie feels deep regret for being neglectful and resentful of Diana. Cassie then talks to Diana and asks why she did not tell Cassie about the tumor. Diana says that she did not want to give Cassie further stress and worry.
