Point of View

The novella, "The Years, Months, Days," is told from the first person narration of the character, the Elder. He is the only human being left in his village after the others have all left and readers are able to see what happens from his point of view. His actions and the reason behind those actions are shown through his first person narration. Readers see why he decides to stay behind and his desire to provide for the future. The Elder's thoughts tell the readers that he wants to be remembered by the villagers and to provide them with seeds so that they can grow food when they all return to the village.

"Marrow" is also relayed from a first person narration; that of the character Fourth Wife You. The story is told through her eyes and readers are given insight into her actions and thoughts...
