Summary

In Chapter 46 it is Saturday, Nov. 6. Ed tells Anna that her story is unbelievable and reminds her that she has been taking a good deal of medication. She senses he does not believe her and insists that even though her medication has been increased, she did not hallucinate the stabbing. Ed next questions Anna’s certainty that it was Alistair who hurt Jane. He suggests perhaps it was the other woman. He also suggests that Anna talk to Dr. Fielding about what has happened.

In Chapter 47 Anna thinks to herself that she knows what she saw. She insists to herself that the incident is not over.

In Chapter 48, as Anna watches the Russells’ house with her camera she is surprised when the phone in Ed’s library rings. Anna looks across the street to see the woman who says she is Jane looking...
