Summary

Seven members of the team run on from training outside in the winter. Stage directions note that 8, 25, 2, and 13 all have colds. As 13 uses an inhaler, the others complain about having to warm up in the cold. Conversation reveals they are in the middle of the college showcase tournament; have just won their first game; and have another in half an hour. They talk about how good they were, and how one of them (not onstage at the moment) was exceptionally good – “in front of all those scouts” (111).
