Part Four: The Devil's Bride, Chapters 51-52 Summary

Rowan waits to do what Lasher wants, still unsure of how it will be accomplished. She encourages him to surrender to the form he creates, but Lasher will not be lured into an inanimate shell. Lasher tells Rowan that he knows she will do what he wants. Lasher reaches into Rowan's womb for the baby. Rowan hears the baby's cry and sees the strange body from her nightmare. Lasher uses his power to grow the body, and Rowan finds herself using her power to help him. When the merging is complete, Lasher tells Rowan to stop her own bleeding. She sleeps and wakes to find a man with the soft skin of a newborn. She screams, but Lasher reminds her that he needs her help. Rowan is amazed by his body...
