Part Four: The Devil's Bride, Chapters 44-47 Summary

In San Francisco, Michael experiences a string of bad luck. He packs up his Christmas ornament collection to send to New Orleans. He has a flash of seeing Lasher as a child, and he starts to panic. He leaves to find his car vandalized, and someone he believes to be Julien's ghost tells him to go home. When he tries to catch up to the man, he is gone, but he thinks he sees the face on the bus. Michael stops, remembering part of the vision again, and is almost hit by a bus. Michael decides to call Ryan for help with finishing the packing. Ryan arranges for Michael to go back to New Orleans by private plane. Michael calls Rowan and asks her to protect him.
