Summary

Toby invites Susanna and Leon over for dinner, in order to try to get more details from them about their childhoods, and thus hopefully about Dominic’s murder. Toby asks Melissa to help him get more information out of his cousins. Although Melissa is reluctant, she agrees to help him.

That night, after Hugo goes to bed, Toby begins his project of information gathering. Over the course of the night, their conversation reveals that Susanna and Leon were perhaps closer to each other than they were to Toby. They go outside to smoke in the garden. As they get high together, Toby asks Susanna and Leon to share the worst things they’ve ever done. Susanna reveals that she confronted the doctor who abused her during her pregnancy, and that the confrontation was so intense that it could have caused his death five days...
