Part One: Chapters 15-17 Summary

After meeting with Romanello, LuAnn proceeds to the salon to have her hair done as she indicated to Charlie. Romanello returned to his apartment to celebrate his new wealth. Jackson was waiting for him. Jackson methodically explains his disappointment in Romanello's continued interest in LuAnn Tyler. He then shocks him with a taser gun and injects his heart with a solution designed to induce a heart attack without leaving evidence.

Meanwhile, LuAnn accepts her lottery winnings at the national press conference. Charlie watches from the audience. He is happy for LuAnn but torn inside. He mulled over her proposition. He would love to accompany LuAnn and Lisa overseas but recognized that their friendship would only go just so far. At some point he expected her to become romantically involved with another man, and then he wondered what...
