Section 9: Chapters 18-21 Summary

In Chapter 18, tension blossoms in the city as rumors spread that Jaidee is dead. Mai knocks on the office door to ask for her last pay because white shirts are approaching and she fears the sickness. Hock Seng pays Mai, and when the white shirts flood the factory, he allows her to accompany through the escape route he planned in case of the worst case scenario since he is so paranoid.
