Halfway to Debaria, Roland and Bill take shelter in a shepherd's lean-to to eat, and Bill is amazed that Roland is a gunslinger. As Roland shows the boy a trick to make the bullet disappear, the boy starts to sleep, and Roland tells him to recall last night, promising that he is safe.
