Summary

In Chapter 27, Vanessa gets a call from Lucille on her way to work telling her that she is being fired. Lucille tells Vanessa it is because of the merchandise Lucille found hidden in the stockroom. Vanessa is told she can come pick up her final check in one hour. Vanessa intends to deliver the letter to Emma’s office in that time but is told by the guard that Emma no longer works there. Instead, Vanessa puts the picture of Duke in an envelope and asks the guard to give it to Richard.
