Summary

Chapter 15

Goldy, Arch, and Gus head to the morning church service with Sergeants Boyd and Armstrong in tow. Volunteers have set chairs out on the lawn while crime scene technicians continue to work inside the church. Marla arrives and sits next to Goldy during the service, which is conducted by a priest Goldy doesn’t recognize. After the service ends Goldy sees Audrey Millard, the church secretary, and starts walking towards her, but is stopped by Ophelia Unger who asks to speak with her. Ophelia apologizes for being rude at the club yesterday; she says that Bob had been driving her crazy complaining about being questioned by the cops, and she’d used Goldy’s arrival as an excuse to get a break from him.
