Chapter 7-9 Summary

Lytol tells Jaxom to make sure that he is discreet about who knows he and Ruth have been fighting Thread. Lytol tells Jaxom that he can go train with the other weyrlings, young dragonriders, to ensure that Jaxom will be safe. They make Jaxom promise that if he is allowed to go, he will not time it any more. He agrees and the talks continue. Lytol is informed that the grub, an organism that eat Thread, live underground in the Southern Holds and are enough to take care of any Thread threat. There is talk that the day may come when dragonriders are not needed in the North either.
