Chapter 4-6 Summary

Jaxom begins looking for time to steal away and teach Ruth to eat firestone and practice breathing fire. He is constantly busy and when he can manage to get time away, there are fire-lizards that follow them no matter where they fly. Jaxom notices he is being treated differently by those in the hold since he got angry at Dorse. They refer to him as "Lord" Jaxom and treat him the same as they would treat Lord Lytol or a visiting dignitary. Jaxom decides he does not want to be the Lord of Ruatha as of yet and certainly doesn't want to be part of an arranged marriage.
