Chapters 7-9 Summary

While in grad school working in a language lab, Bogus meets Ralph Packer, an aspiring documentarian. Ralph invites Bogus to collaborate on some projects, promising that once they start making some money, Bogus will start getting paid for his work. Bogus ends up working with Ralph for quite a while, through several movies, doing sound effects and splicing sound together. Tulpen already has a job editing film for Ralph, a job she got by sleeping with Ralph. Although Ralph has had one popular film which won some awards, his other movies have not been successful.
