Section IV - Under Way Summary
The Wanderer returns to the sea. On board, Uncle Mo sits on deck sketching drawings of the seals that play around their boat. When Sophie spots this, she asks if Uncle Mo is an artist. He explains that he's a "number cruncher" (Page 86), and that life doesn't always work out so everyone is working their dream jobs. Sophie doesn't buy it and thinks Uncle Mo is very talented. Overall, Sophie is thrilled to be crossing the ocean to Ireland, but worries that she and her family members will annoy each other with no land in sight, and she is equally worried when she hears that there are rough storms ahead. Meanwhile, Cody has played witness to some strange behavior from his father. During their last call home, his father spoke very softly to his mother, telling her repeatedly that he loves her. Later, he walked in on his father...
