Chapter Seven Summary

Jodie drives fast and quietly, heading first for the Johnsons house to see Janie. Sarah-Charlotte is there but when Jodie politely explains that this is her only night alone with her sister, she bows out without a fuss. They talk about Reeve, and how he likes college in Boston and Jodie confesses to being a little bit jealous. Janie tells her about his job at the station, and Jodie comments that Boston sounds wonderful. They have a fast food dinner from Boston Chicken, and Janie's father encourages them to hurry so that they can get to Boston before it gets too late. Janie defends her, and Jodie wishes they had more time to get to know each other better. She asks Janie if she wants to join them in Boston for two days. Jodie tells them that they have a room...
