Chapter 30 Summary

The cop IDs Reacher and Harper and then asks them to take the mug back into the house for him.

When she doesn't answer, Reacher breaks the door down. When they rush into the bathroom, they find Scimeca in the tub and Julia Lamarr standing over her. Reacher grabs Lamar and hits her in the head.

Reacher makes his way to Scimeca and pulls her tongue out of her throat. As he is about to give her CPR, she coughs and starts breathing. Harper runs the shower and gets into the tub with Rita to wash the paint off her. Reacher wraps her in a towel and robe and carries Rita to her bed. He tells Harper that Lamarr hypnotized them all.
