Summary

In Chapter 25, Zoe goes through Henry’s old things to learn that Joan is Tara. Everything Zoe now owns was once owned by Tara, she realizes. She discovers a hidden shrine in which Henry has taken stalker photographs of her working at the flower shop, and a newspaper clipping from September 15, 2011 which talks about the death of a Tara Joan Whittaker. There is also a card from Tara to Henry, quoting Pygmalion, a clear indication that she knew what Henry was all about and that she was more than just a marble statue designed by Henry. Zoe realizes Tara did not suffer from agoraphobia, but was kept locked away toward the end of her marriage. Zoe also realizes she has to leave, but she is locked in the house. Henry then suddenly appears with a gun.
