Summary

In Chapter 7, the novel steps back in time to February 2013. Lydia bailed out of work to go on a date, leaving Zoe in charge of handling a major evening for the flower shop – a dinner at the restaurant, Brulee, in Tribeca. There, setting up flowers, Lydia accidentally knocked over gift bags and agreed to help the man who was handling them put them back together. Zoe was instantly attracted to the man, who introduced himself as Henry Whittaker. Henry asked her to be his date for the evening. Henry is described as being rich, famous, and known as a player.
