The Struggle, Chapters 7-8 Summary

Chapter Seven of The Struggle, the second book in The Vampire Diaries, begins right after Elena and Stefan leave Alaric Saltzman's party and their confrontation with Damon there. Elena is trying to calm down Stefan from facing his brother, and she asks him about the weakness of vampires and what powers they might have. Stefan proceeds to tell her of all the powers that Damon probably has and the things which might deter him.

The next day at school, Stefan is not there but has phoned Bonnie and Meredith to chaperone Elena as much as they can to protect her from Damon. While at school, Elena finds a note tacked to the school notice board, which is a passage from her stolen diary. Upset, Elena flees to the girls bathroom where Bonnie and Meredith corner her and...
