The forest clearing near the river is the only named setting in "The Upright Revolution." Once the organs design the competition between the limbs, they announce the event's location. Wind spreads news of the upcoming contest, and all of the creatures of the air, sky, and water gather in the clearing.

With the animals and plants looking on, Arms and Legs try performing one another's challenges. Legs tries collecting and throwing sticks. Arms tries to carry the entire body around a circle in the sand without the help of the other limbs. Judges and spectators laugh and cheer, depending on each event's outcome.

As the competition is the only distinct scene in the story, the rest of the pages occur outside an exact space or time.
