Chapters 47-50 Summary

In Chapter 47, MI5 agent Clive Roach is following Anna. Neumann is headed towards London on a train, preparing to meet with Anna. Clive's assignment is to follow Neumann, named Rudolf by MI5. Clive sees the exchange, and after the handoff, Neumann begins following Anna, and Clive following Neumann. Anna knows Neumann is following her but does not know why. A few hours later, Neumann is convinced Anna is being followed by MI5. Neumann decides to approach Anna and talk to her. This surprises the MI5 agents completely. Vicary knows the German spies realize their cover has been exposed, and he wants to arrest them immediately. Boothby delays. Neumann and Anna leave their meeting with a plan for escaping London.
