Summary

Chapter 14 opens with Ethan and Olive packing up to head back home. For Olive, the reality of their vacation bubble popping seems very real. She is hesitant about the Dane situation. When Olive asks Ethan if Dane is going to become a thing between them, Ethan replies "I said it before...It's clear you don't really like him, and he's my brother." (274).

The two begin to argue about whether or not Ami was aware of the other women that Dane was seeing. Ethan tells Olive that if it were true that Dane was cheating on Ami, he would have a very hard time believing that. They put the conversation away for the time being but Olive is still internally plagued and silently begs Ethan "not to bring up Dane or everything that could screw this up back home" (276).
