Chapters 45 - 48 Summary

In Chapter 45, Noah crosses the creek safely, but when Mara tries to cross, she is surrounded by alligators. Noah gets back into the creek to try to distract the alligators but Mara kills them all. Noah pulls her up the creek bank and they run until they reach a small concrete shed. Noah helps Mara into the shed through a small, high window. She falls and dislocates her shoulder, but finds Joseph. Mara unlocks the shed from the inside and Noah gets Joseph. They run just as a car pulls up to the shed.

In Chapter 46, they reach the car and head to I-75. When Noah realizes that Mara's shoulder is dislocated, he tells her that she needs to go to a hospital. When she shares her fear of the hospital, he tells her that he can put it back for...
