Bingo

Bingo is one of the main characters of the novel. He is a raccoon and therefore one of the Official Scouts. He and his brother have a special assignment in the group, they are the Information Officers. It is their task to wake up the Sugar Man when their swamp is endangered. Bingo looks exactly like J'miah except for a patch of hair that constantly stands up. Like his Great Uncle Banjo, Bingo is a determined tree climber. The first time he climbs to the top of a tree, he spots a red blinking star and decides to name it Blinkle.

Bingo and his brother are able to get to the home of the Sugar Man. Once they try to find his lair, they are instructed to find sugar cane to wake the Sugar Man. Unable to do so, Bingo goes back to Blinkle and makes a wish...
