Summary

After arguing with the others about which point of a chain would actually be the weakest, Apollo tells them that Caligula has the same information from the Sibyl as they do. Jason considers flying, and Apollo warns them that the Strixes are active after dark. Piper calls a boat over and charmspeaks the guards into leaving it long enough that the four can leave. On the way, Apollo thinks of Caligula’s sister Julia (who Caligula loved more than anyone) died at 22 after being practically smothered by Caligula’s affection. Once they reach a yacht, Jason flies himself and Piper up. Apollo then tells Meg he believes she is projecting her fury at Nero onto Caligula. He explains that he once killed Cyclopre (who made Zeus’s bolts) in revenge after Zeus killed Apollo’s son because it was easier than facing Zeus directly...
