The Train

The train to Manhattan is where the novel begins as Meg and Apollo are travelling from the west coast where they were in the previous novel to New York. This is where Apollo hears part of the remainder of his prophecy and where they meet Luguselwa for the first time. It is on the train that they learn that Nero has control over the city and there are only a few places they can go to avoid the cameras and guards he has. They manage to escape with Lu’s help, and head off the train and into the sewers to escape from Nero’s men.
