Summary

Sam and Fran, inhabiting new, illusory bodies created by the Can-D, have a pleasant time in the illusion. However, it soon becomes apparent that their neighbors have also ingested Can-D to enter the illusion. Multiple people now inhabit each of the two bodies. Sam and Fran, disappointed, eject themselves from the illusion and leave in order to have sex in real life, away from their spouses and neighbors.

The narrative then shifts to a hospital on Ganymede. Leo Bulero arrives but is barred from seeing Palmer Eldritch. Leo calls Felix Blau, a high-ranking police investigator on Earth, who says that there is a new company on Earth preparing to make a new type of drug.
