Wang

Wang Miao is a nanomaterials researcher based in Beijing, where he lives with his wife and son, and where he has most recently developed a razor-sharp wire from nanomaterial. Wang agrees to join the Battle Command Center to help an international coalition determine who is targeting the scientific community, and why.

Wang is generally able to stay above the doubts that have plagued scientists because Wang’s own work is largely practical, because Wang does not believe science is the end-all to life, and because Wang accepts God must exist.

Wang’s nanowire is used in a Battle Command operation to bring down Red Coast II, which in turn helps Battle Command to decipher the true intentions of the Trisolarians. Upon learning of the probable fate of mankind by the Trisolarans, Wang falls into a drunken depression, but his newfound friend in Shi manages to lift his spirits...
