Summary

In Chapter 36, Smith told Harry that he believed the torture done to Marte was Valentin’s work based on the notes he had taken about Valentin’s fantasies. Tord found email correspondence between Lenny and Valentin suggesting they set up a collaboration. Lenny contacted Valentin via email before the attacks on Elise, Ewa and Penelope. In regards to Marte’s disappearance, Lenny wrote to Valentin that he knew who had kidnapped Marte and that he would meet with Valentin to get rid of her.
