Chapters Twelve and Thirteen Summary

Around 11 a.m., they pull into the Motel 9 in Ridgewood. The desk clerk confirms that Boaz was there but checked out that morning. Levi is trying to calculate how long it would take Boaz to walk to Edison. He's pretty sure the type of road Boaz would choose to walk. They drive to Orange where they park the car and begin to walk. Levi chooses the route he thinks Boaz would be taking and walk in the direction he would be coming from, hoping to run right into him. After walking an hour, Levi realizes it's time to turn around. They either missed him or he took another route.
