Chapters Eight and Nine Summary

Seeing all the camping equipment that Amanda bought for Boaz enrages Levi. He rushes upstairs and pounds on Boaz' door. When Boaz opens it, he pushes his way in. Levi confronts him about his trip. Levi tells him their mother has bought out the sporting goods store and he knows that Boaz is not going on the Appalachian Trail. Boaz tells him to stay out of it. Levi demands his old map back. When Levi gets his laptop back he finds that Boaz was on to him. He canceled his email account and erased his history.

The family has a dinner for Boaz' last night before his trip. Dov brings him lunch from the Armenian deli for his for day on the hike. Boaz refuses the extra cash that Dov offers him. Throughout the dinner, Boaz avoids...
