Summary

Chapter 9. Robie and Reel arrive in North Carolina. Marks meets them in a Humvee and immediately instructs them to strip to their underwear. Anticipating such a thing, both Robie and Reel are wearing workout clothes under their regular clothes. They are then forced to run six miles, three of it uphill, to the main complex of the Burner Box. Afterward, they are run through four hours of intense exercise training. Afterward, they are taken to their room and forced to strip for their physicals.

Chapter 10. The doctor suggests to Robie that he get skin grafts for the severe burns on his legs from his last mission. He refuses because it would require him to stop work for six weeks or more. During the exam, Robie tries to get information on Marks from the doctor, but the doctor is reluctant to tell him anything...
