Point of View

The novel is narrated by an omniscient third-person narrator. This allows us to have an overall picture of the story while still giving us deep insights into the minds of the characters. Despite the fact that the narration is in the third person, there is a personal touch to the narrative that makes it feel as if we were given first-person narrations. Each chapter focuses on the perspective of one of the main characters: Dylan, Constance or Stella. We are thusly able to make reliable inferences about all the characters based on the descriptions given by the omniscient narrator.
