Summary

As soon as Mourad told the horse to run, he took off at an amazing speed. Mourad rode her over fields and ditches and was back just "five minutes later" (6). The sun had begun rising. Aram asked to ride solo, and Mourad obliged. Once Aram was on the horse, however, the horse refused to move. Anxious that "everybody in the world" would soon be "up and about," Mourad hurriedly told Aram to kick the horse (6). Aram did so. The horse ran through the field and ditch, and over vines. When he leaped, however, Aram fell off.

Mourad ran to reach him, unconcerned about Aram, but worried the horse would get away and they would be discovered. Thirty minutes later, Mourad had recovered the horse. He explained that they either had to return the horse immediately, or hide him until the following morning. When...
