Part One, continued

In Chapter Eight, Hugh and Daniel notice more and more soldiers at the train stations. Hugh has written to his Alex Ramsey for advice, as Hugh wishes to offer his services in some capacity to the war effort. Daniel is still determined to follow through on the journal with Craigmore. Hugh then goes to meet with Ramsey. Ramsey explains he and Lucy made it home safely in the nick of time. Ramsey hopes to apply modern medicine, and modern medical technology, to use in the field. Ramsey has been commissioned a colonel, and will work under the Royal Army Medical Corps. Ramsey intends to bring Hugh and a few others along as well. It will mean delaying his medical schooling, so Hugh desires to consult his uncle and his father on the matter. Hugh is then thrilled to see...
