Summary

In Chapter 22, after Alyssa’s latest article exposes Asma’s net monetary worth, Asma decides that she has to move back to Bangladesh. Asma is deeply sorrowful that she can no longer stay in America. However, one day, when Asma leaves her building, a crowd of people surrounds her. Some are supporters, some are protesters. Someone stabs Asma, but no one sees who did it. Asma quickly bleeds out and dies. Alyssa is in the crowd, and she suddenly worries for her own safety; Asma is dead because Alyssa printed her address in the paper. One of Asma’s neighbors, Nasruddin, finds Alyssa and hands her over to the police for protection and possible custody.
