Summary

Chapter 7 introduces a character named Sean Gallagher. Sean’s brother Patrick was a firefighter who died in the World Trade Center while trying to save people during the 9/11 attack. Sean works as a plumber and handyman. Sean and Patrick had not been particularly close as brothers, but after Patrick’s death, Sean gave formal speeches at many public events commemorating his brother. Sean was indignant when he was not invited to join the 9/11 memorial committee. The story then shifts focus to Alyssa, who transferred to the New York Post specifically because the newspaper where she originally worked would not let her run the story about a Muslim being selected to deign the memorial.
