Summary

In Chapter 1, an unnamed old man is watching the sunset on Odakkan Hill in a rural region known at the Asuras. Suddenly he sees a large and mysterious giant walking down the trail towards him. As the giant approaches, the giant discusses how he is trying to sell a tiny goat, the day-old runt of a litter, but the giant refuses to take it to a market, because of the rude nature of the traders. The giant hands the small goat to the old man and, as the old man lovingly examines the small, black goat, the giant begins walking back down the trail, without waiting for payment.
