Summary

In Chapter 18, Wallace has been watching Rose and sees that she makes some typical mistakes as she builds. He comes up with a plan to get her out of the storage room. He says that one of them is going to have to leave the storage room, talking softly in case Mr. Ali is listening. Wallace says they will each build a tower, and the first one to reach 10 feet tall will stay in the storage room with the Legos. The loser will leave. The next day, Rose begins building while Wallace is working on his homework. Wallace believes Rose cannot build a 10-foot tower. Wallace names his tower “Blaze Tower” and imagines that it will really be 10-miles tall. Each day, Rose outdistances Wallace a little, but he is certain that her tower will fall before she can finish. At the end...
